Who we are

CC California Cash, operated by Otane, Inc. ("California Cash", "we", "us"), is a neighborhood store in Torrance, California. We have served Los Angeles County since 1999. Our store is a place where you can cash a check, pay a bill, send a money order or get a short-term loan when you need one.

Our staff is friendly and courteous. We want every customer to leave with a clear understanding of their options, and we take the time to answer your questions, whether you are visiting us for the first time or have been a customer for years.

What we offer

Our services include:

  • Payday loans, called deferred deposit transactions in California. Loans are available up to $255, based on a $300 check, with a fee of at most $45.
  • Check cashing. Fees are posted at the counter and follow California law (Civil Code section 1789.35): no more than 3% of a payroll or government check with ID, 3.5% without ID; personal checks no more than 12%. Ask us for current rates.
  • Money orders and MoneyGram transfers.
  • Other services, including bill payment, DMV registration services, cell phone cards and mailbox rental.

Payday loans are meant for short-term emergency needs. If you apply for a payday loan in our store, you can also get a discount.

How we work

Our payday loans are made under California's licensing rules. Payday lenders must be licensed by the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI), and anyone can verify a license with the DFPI.

Every payday loan made in our store is completed with a written agreement and written disclosures that you receive before you sign. We explain the fee, the due date and the total you will repay, so you can decide with full information. In our store, we will qualify you within 15 minutes.

We are a member of the California Financial Service Providers association.

A California payday loan (deferred deposit transaction) is limited to a $300 check; the fee may not exceed 15% of the check ($45), so the most you can receive is $255. Example: a $255 advance with a $45 fee repaid in 14 days has an APR of 460.16%; the APR is higher for shorter terms and lower for longer terms. Payday loans are meant for short-term emergency needs, not long-term financial solutions. There are no rollovers or extensions, and you cannot be prosecuted for a returned check. Requests made online through our website form may be reviewed by lenders in a third-party network that set their own terms; approval is not guaranteed and lenders may verify your information and check your credit.
